As one of the island's oldest inns, we take pride in being one of Ryde's best-kept secrets. Since taking over this beautiful 1749 listed building eight years ago, we've strived to maintain its historic charm while creating a welcoming atmosphere for all our guests.
Our inn has a rich history, originally known as the Beach Tavern because the sea once lapped right up to the pub walls. Over the years, the land was reclaimed, and we became the Solent Inn, but the spirit of our seaside heritage remains strong.
We are passionate about serving fresh, homemade food that brings people together and we have vegetarian options available. Our Sunday roasts are particularly popular, offering a delicious and hearty meal that feels just like home.

One of Ryde's best kept secrets, the Solent Inn is a gem of a traditional pub with a lovely garden, covered outdoor area and French doors leading into the lounge bar. Worked great as the start and end point for the Harriers trail run and I was privileged to provide live music entertainment from the bay window area through the lounge bar into the garden. This is where they have the renowned open mic on Thursdays as well. Perfect for parties - Hip atmosphere

We rented some of the pub for our daughter’s christening on Sunday! Food was amazing! The staff were friendly helpful and very professional! They set up my little bits for our arrival which was incredible! Everyone had a lovely time! Thank you very much.
